The club will be based out of Carrington, on Throsby Creek, and will cater to members from beginners to advanced paddlers.
“The club used to be just mainly about surfing but there’s so many different things you can do on a stand up paddleboard,” Williams said. “We want it to be about surfing, stillwater and social events too.”
The club’s original relaunch was scheduled for March 19 but had to be postponed due to the weather and is likely to be now held towards the end of April.
In the meantime, more information on the club can be found at www.facebook.com/newcastlesupclub/.
The club’s next event will be the Naish Nisco SUP Fun Race Day with inflatable craft on April 9.
