Line-up: Richard Keiths, Guitar; SK, Bass; Nick Nuisance, Percussion and Atlas Abell, vocals
How long together: About five years now, and a fair while to be real - we've recently had a minor change to the band line up but otherwise we've maintained quite a solidarity in "team" over the years
How it all happened: Ol' Dick (Richard) was walking across main quad in high school (which S.K. and I also attended) and heard me singing This Charming Man by The Smiths. He asked me to sing for his HSC music performance and we ended up sticking together in the long haul. The vocalist they were jamming with at the time couldn't commit so I found myself in the right place at the right time.
What makes you want to do what you are doing: We're four good mates that can feed off each other - getting together is always a pleasure, never a chore. Just a chance to create, learn from each other and pump out something we're proud of and bloody love, regardless of who's ears it's for.
Describe your sound: post-punk/rock'n'roll but we've been playing a lot in the garage community - a lot of earlier influences, from Devo and The Ramones to Gang Of Four and Misfits, we're wading through rock'n'roll but remembering where our roots are.
Dream support gig and why: I personally would love to support Iggy And The Stooges - but just off our collected eclectic taste anyone from Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers to Dinosaur Jr would be drool-worthy. Super hard to put a finger on just one band!
Why do you do what you do?: To celebrate the goodness and expose the evil of people - everyone has the capacity for either, so it's interesting hearing different inferences on the same subject matter. We try to write music that makes people think and feel - who are you really?
Recordings: So far we've done two EPs and a single a few years ago, then a selection of demo tracks more recently. While the majority of these are all available on SoundCloud, we'll be recording in a matter of weeks and releasing a record mid this year - get eager.
Greatest rock’n’roll moment: Between crowd surfing and violent mosh pits, we've had several 'larger than life' moments that leave the whole band flabbergasted - just recently I requested the audience (of a standing performance) sit down, and everyone fell like dominos. I must admit I was blown away by the response!
Plans for world domination: Currently we're looking to cut this record, release a bit more merch then tour with it, hopefully hitting the east coast and possibly in land a bit, then very casually allow our music to become the main paradigm of every existing religion and all of those to come. We'll bide our time.
Next gig: We're playing April 1st at The Lass with Nick Nuisance and The Delinquents, Unfit For Human Consumption and Chimera - be there or be NOT A-ROUND.
