This week we bring you Benny Coles. Yes folks, Iron Jay from the I&J Crispy Battered Fish TV commercial. Fiona Whitton, of Islington, got to rub shoulders with the man himself when the Dapto-based professional wrestler came to Newcastle in 2013.
Jay’s dad was a world champion wrestler, The Mechanic. His mum was world champion lady wrestler, The Pocket Rocket, according to the I&J website.
“I met him at one of the excellent Newcastle Pro Wrestling events at New Lambton (now monthly at Charlestown Bowling Club),” Ms Whitton said.
“I felt like a dork but love wrestling and his adorable baby teeth so thought I should get a photo.”
