IT was a telephone call from a friend who was working at ABC 1233 that alerted Dr Margie Harris, of Hamilton, to the fact Alice Cooper was within reach.

She is not exactly sure of the year, but thinks it was about 1997 when the brush with fame took place.
“My friend was program director, she called and said, ‘Get down here,’” Dr Harris said.
“He was relaxed and happy and normal. He told us he loved golf.
“He said he was happy to meet Paul (AKA Harry Harris) who was a famous local muso.”
Alice Cooper will return to Newcastle on October 24 bringing his seven date tour to Newcastle Entertainment Centre. It will be 40 years since he first performed in Australia with his Welcome to My Nightmare show.
