The boys say they are excited about the upcoming gig and would love to see their supporters get along to what is promised to be a typical high energy The Ride Ons show.
The Ride Ons have been doing the rounds for 13 years, clocking up more than 350 gigs, and have released five studio recordings. Last year’s Nitrous featured six songs, some of which you can expect to hear on the night.
Singing barista
CORE Espresso barista Liam Endersby gave it his best shot on The Voice last week, singing Dancing On My Own and playing the keys. None of the judges turned for him but the support he has received since, from people who watched his performance, no doubt boosted his spirits.
This is what he had to say on Instagram: “So humbled to have been given the opportunity to tell my story, share my voice with thousands of people and hopefully inspire and give hope to those who have been knocked down in life,” he wrote.
“Don’t give up your dreams, get back up and make them come true! I’ll be back next year to turn those chairs and make all of you proud! Thank you The Voice for this experience, had the time of my life.”
Groundswell
IN the lead up to the Students of Sustainability conference, to be held in Newcastle in July, a special Groundswell fundraising event has been organised at the Lass O’Gowrie Hotel, Wickham.
Acts on the bill so far are: Dr Robot, Caterpillar, Just Chuck, JUN WAN, Sugargob, Fux and the Sound, Folk Friends, Lily Amber, Julesy, Wilson and the Castaways, Red City and ABC.
Groundswell will be held on June 3 from midday. Entry is by donation.
New single
VANILLA Gorilla collectively hail from Cooks Hill, Merewether and Pacific Palms and will release their new single Rainbow Girl next week.
They already have an EP to their name: Colour Flow.
You can catch some homegrown talent at The Small Ballroom on May 20.
