“Accidents and near accidents are becoming a common occurrence on this road and it is simply not good enough for the Berijiklian Government to ignore calls from myself and my constituents to fix the problem,” Ms Harrison said.
The motion followed a meeting of concerned residents held on April 18 in Hillsborough where a working party was formed in the hope that strength in numbers can force the Government to take action on the ongoing traffic and safety issues.
“I commend local resident Michael Nolan who took the initiative to organise this meeting and thank all the Hillsborough residents who attended,” Ms Harrison said.
“I have invited the Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight to visit the area and understand first- hand what the issues are.
“It’s much easier for people to see what the problems are if they actually see them and know that they are real rather than statistics on a piece of paper.”
