The Northstars went down 4-1 to Perth Thunder 4-1 on Saturday then 4-2 to Sydney Ice Dogs on Sunday.
Newcastle coach Andrew Petrie said failure to take any points out of the weekend was disappointing.
“It’s hard to be disappointed in their effort when they put up 50 shots and ran into a very hot goaltender,” Petrie said.
“But as far as effort, every shift I was really happy with that, but we just couldn’t buy enough goals to get the win.”
The hosts led 2-0 on Sunday before conceding four unanswered goals.
The Northstars hit the road this weekend to take on Adelaide Adrenalin on Saturday then Thunder in Perth on Sunday.
