Morgan said he loved the venue because “back in the day Carrington had the highest sales of Bex powders anywhere in the country.”
“I’m a bit of a tickler for the Bex powders,” he said. “I know it causes internal bleeding but I do find it refreshing.”
Morgan said it was an extra thrill to perform at a bowling club.
“ I am definitely what they would classify as a sporting type,” he said. “More competitive shuttlecock, but I am happy to stretch my kundalini and throw a few balls down the green.”
Mark Tinson will be among a star-studded local cast to join in on the show.
“Tinno will be bringing his rock’n’roll guitar and I will be on the Hammond,” Morgan said.
“All the guests will gather around the home organ for a sing-along.”
There will be food to share and songs and games to play on stage.
At the July 23 show he will be joined onstage by Mark Tinson, Noah Church and the bowling club’s secretary-manager Jaci Lappin will make her performance debut. At the July 24 show he will be accompanied by Marcus Wright, Deanna Rose and Truman Smith.

BRIGHTNESS
NEWCASTLE multi-instrumentalist Alex Knight, aka Brightness, could potentially break into the massive American indie market after receiving a rave album review from highly-respected US music site Pitchfork last week.
Knight’s first album Teething received a 7.4 rating out of 10 and reviewer Shaad D’Souza wrote,“It’s a dry, beautiful debut that pushes beyond ’90s indie rock trappings and into rougher, more interesting terrain.”
Knight said he was “in high spirits” following the review. However, it might be more than his spirits that soar following the glowing praise.
Pitchfork is the world’s most popular online indie music-focused publication and boasts a daily readership of 240,000.
RAAVE TAPES
RAAVE Tapes like taking indie rock into places it rarely sees the light of day.
Last year they launched their self-titled debut EP at renown dance nightclub the King Street Hotel. The venue sold out and punters were lined up in the street.
On August 20 The Newcastle three-piece are taking their music to arguably the city’s most iconic nightclub, Argyle House or as we remember it, Fanny’s. Raave Tapes aren’t going alone. The evening will feature music across three stages from 20 acts.
