Cassandra Portelli from Hunter School of the Performing Arts received the Premier’s First State Super Financial Literacy Scholarship.
Deborah Costa from Cessnock West Public School received the Premier’s Anika Foundation Youth Depression Awareness Scholarship.
It supports the study of issues related to depression awareness both in Australia and overseas.
The focus of Ms Portelli’s study will be Global money week and will include a study tour to Canada, the Netherlands and the United States of America.
Deborah’s proposed study will focus on moderating the role of childhood traumatic stress in the development of youth depression by implementing reparative and resilience school projects and will include a study tour to the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
The Premier’s Teacher Scholarships provide recipients with $10,000-$15,000 in funds for a five-week study tour to some of the world's most highly acclaimed schools and centres for teaching and learning.
