Newcastle Music Festival committee member Jill Albrecht said the 12-day event has gained plenty of support from the community as well as businesses and council, who have helped fund it.
New additions to this year’s event include a live online concert, held earlier in the festival.
Albrecht said JPY would collaborate with the Christ Church Camerata Quartet and singer Heather Price during his concert at Adamstown Uniting Church from 7.30pm on August 19.
The festival brings international talent to Newcastle as well as giving home-grown musicians the chance to showcase their skills. It culminates in a finale concert at Christ Church Cathedral on August 20.
“The focus is on really good music, much of that for us is classical,” Albrecht said.
