My Year as a Fairy Tale, curated by Lizz Mackenzie, presents a series of works inspired by Helen Hopcroft’s 12 month project in which she is dressing as Marie Antoinette while going about her everyday life in Maitland.
A puppet show will be held on October 14 at midday as part of this work.
Also on exhibit is They Might Be Giants, showcasing works by second and third year sculpture students.
Another exhibition is My Australiana by Ileigh Hellier. The work captures the Australian landscape and the artist experience amongst it. Ileigh works with saturated, warm colours, variations in mark making and a busy picture plane.
Inked In is an exhibition featuring works by Vanessa Lewis. Lewis is a PhD candidate. Her work presents an intimate exhibition of fine ink drawings in which the media is also the inspiration.
The exhibitions run until October 15.
