Newcastle’s Kurt Fearnley has finished second again to Swiss legend Marcel Hug in the Chicago Marathon.

A pack of 15 racers stayed together for the first 35 kilometres before Hug kicked clear to win by more than a minute, crossing the finish line in the fastest time in Chicago for six years. Fearnley was next in a time of 1 hour 30 minutes 24 seconds.

It was the second consecutive year Fearnley has finished second to Hug.
