Council staff worked hard last week to get the work finished by its due date so the new amenities could be enjoyed by the community on the weekend.
Stage five of the main street upgrade has made a vast improvement to the lower end of The Boulevarde, with the construction of inviting elevated outdoor dining areas, level footpaths, attractive landscaping and sun shading.
The majority works up to the intersection with Victory Parade are now complete, with only some handrails and bench seats to be installed, along with footpath improvements on the stretch of Victory Parade leading up to The Boulevarde.
Once those works are finished, construction will begin on stage six, focused on the intersection of Pemell Street heading west.
I was at the Spring Fair on Saturday and it was great to see people enjoying the new facilities.
I know this stage of construction has been challenging for some of the local businesses along the strip, and I thank them for their patience through the construction period.
The street is looking fantastic and I am sure businesses, locals and visitors to Toronto will enjoy and see great benefit from the improvements.
