The Newcastle Climate Justice Uprising collective and local students will be embarking on a trip to the frontline at the site of the proposed Adani owned Carmichael coal mine.

At peak capacity it is expected to produce 60 million tonnes of coal a year.
The collective will be holding a fundraiser titled Rock to Block this month at the Croatian Wickham Sports Club to raise funds to travel to Queensland.
It will feature a long list of Newcastle talent.
On the bill is: Georgina May, Alana J Mundi, Crazy Old Maurice , The Fux and the Sound, Catnip, Vanishing Shapes, The Response Band, Hangman, Chimera, Gabe, Flight Hawk, Lux, Windarayne and Adi Bee.
And if that wasn’t enough there will also be pizza from the excellent wood fired oven, a plant swap, hoola hoop workshop, auction and art stall.
The taps will also be running inside the club.
The event is to be held on November 24, at the Croatian Wickham Sports Club, from 5pm. Entry $10.
