Set to be held at the Charlestown Bowling Club on August 12, it’s a lengthy line-up that’s “not to be missed”, according to even organiser Lydia Macokatic, especially when it’s for “such a good cause”.
“We’ve got seven acts heading to the event, from the Baytones to Ellie Drennan, as well as Aaron Mansfield putting on a show as Elvis,” Ms Macokatic said.
“Mansfield is going to be doing a show as the King of Rock and Roll. It’s going to be a great concert.”
Ms Macokatic urged anyone who could “spare a few coins” to come along and “support the foundation.”
“It’s in aid for the Lions Diabetes Foundation, which is a great cause. They’re trying to find a cure for diabetes here in the Hunter, and we’re just trying to raise some money for them,” she explained.
“There’s a lot of people diagnosed with diabetes every day, and it’s rife in the community. There’s so many people who don’t even know they’ve got it, so even if you can’t get out to the show make some time for a test and just clear everything up about.
“We’re just trying to make everyone aware, it’s really important.”
The Lions event will be held from 1pm on Sunday, August 12, with tickets priced at $20. Afternoon tea is included in the ticketing cost, and there will be a lucky door prize of $100.
