The 22 year old from Georgetown competed in the NSW Combined Event Championships in Campbelltown this month, where she scored enough points to make the B-qualifier for the Games.
The result is expected to earn her a ticket to Glasgow.
Despite hot, windy conditions, Stanwell took her points tally to 5655 - 55 more than she needed to qualify.
Disappointed with her high jump, Stanwell made a comeback with personal bests in shot put, javelin, 100-metre hurdle and 800m sprint events.
As she was well ahead in the NSW title standings, Stanwell was alone on the track for the 800m sprint - the decider.
Stanwell's three-second personal record in the event pushed her across the line to make the qualifier.
This weekend, Stanwell will compete in the Hunter Track Classic at Glendale, where she will enter three individual events.
Stanwell said it would be another chance to improve her weaker disciplines and edge closer to the A-qualifying standard, despite being 345 points off.
