The 24-year-old aerial skier was named as part of the 58-strong team of skiers, snowboarders, skaters and sliders last week.
The news came nine years after her Olympic gymnastics dreams were crushed when she ruptured her Achilles in training. After the injury, Wells, who started skiing at the age of 9, refocused on aerial skiing.
The long haul back to the top paid off earlier this month, when she placed fourth in the penultimate World Cup event in Quebec.
The Sochi Winter Olympics start on Friday, February 7.
