As part of Variety's Newcastle Splash to raise money for sick, disadvantaged and disabled children, the flotilla will visit seven villages including Toronto, Belmont and Valentine as it cruises around the lake.
Local identity John Paul Young will join the February 21 to 23 adventure.
The singer, who lives at Blackalls Park, has been working with Variety for many years and has assumed the role of ambassador for the past decade.
"Variety has always been the entertainers' charity and it's fantastic to be able to get involved," he said.
Last year 12 boats and their crew raised $20,000 for Variety.
■ To be part of the event a boat and crew are necessary. Each adult pays $250 to take part, children eight to 16 pay $40, and under sevens are free. For more information phone 4965 4911.
