Adelaide offered up the perfect day for the 44,000 racing fans who headed to the track to catch first day of the 2014 Clipsal 500 on March 1.

High adrenalin was on offer for the four-day racing extravaganza which served up action on and off the track as the V8 Supercar Series began round one in the festival state.
James Courtney was crowned the winner of round one after taking race three line honours for team Holden.
The Clipsal 500 offered some dramatic moments with Will Davison, team Mercedes, losing his front wheel and passenger side door in an 11th-lap smash with Nissan's James Moffat.
The yellow flag was raised not long after when Holden's Jason Bright corkscrewed into the wall.
