After a 1-0 win against Melbourne Heart at Hunter Stadium last Saturday, the Jets are steadily climbing the A-League ladder on the hunt for a coveted top-three position.
The team is looking to move swiftly, with about a month left to playoffs.
Saturday's win was the Jets' second since December, and the first home win since November.
They are now placed seventh on the ladder, closing in on third-placed Melbourne Victory with only a four-point margin.
Jets striker Adam Taggart received praise for his efforts during Saturday's game, having scored his 11th goal of the season.
Taggart said it had given a much-needed boost to the Jets and their supporters.
"It was something everyone needed," he said.
"Not only the club but the whole supporter base. We have the town behind us again."
Newcastle Jets coach Clayton Zane suggested Taggart should be in contention for the Socceroos' World Cup squad.
The Newcastle Jets will play the Central Coast Mariners this Saturday, March 15, at Central Coast Stadium at 7.45pm.
