Strong AFL teams remain at the top of the Wilson Security Black Diamond Cup competition ladder

WITH unbeaten competition leaders Terrigal Avoca having a bye, all other top four teams recorded wins in round eight of the Wilson Security Black Diamond Cup competition.

At a wet Feighan Oval, Newcastle City were too strong for Warners Bay winning 21.16 (148) to 7.9 (51).

At No 1 Sportsground, Cardiff proved too good for Singleton winning 18.20 (128) to 6.8 (44).

Cardiff's score was their highest for the season and only the second time they have broken through the 100-point barrier.

At Adelaide St Oval, an eight-goal second quarter was enough for Killarney Vale to get the points over Nelson Bay, 15.14 (104) to 10.12 (72).

In first division, Wyong Lakes, Newcastle City, Maitland and Cardiff all recorded wins while Muswellbrook continued their form resurgence with a fourth consecutive win in second division.

Terrigal Avoca, Cardiff and Lake Macquarie also had wins while Warners Bay and Newcastle City had a draw.

There will be a general bye in the Black Diamond AFL next weekend as all eyes will be on the representative side which takes on AFL Sydney Development team.
