Terrigal Avoca retained their unbeaten record with a 21.22 (148) to 9.9 (63) win over Cardiff.
At half-time the Panthers led by 48 points.
The Hawks started the last quarter with the first two goals, however, any thoughts of a comeback were short-lived as Terrigal Avoca kicked the last seven goals to run out 85-point winners.
Nelson Bay kept their finals hopes alive with a 16.13 (109) to 14.8 (92) win over Singleton.
Killarney Vale moved up to third position on the ladder with a hard-fought 7.13 (57) to 4.3 (27) win over Warners Bay at Adelaide St Oval.
Newcastle City had the bye.
In first division, Maitland consolidated their position in the top four with a 50-point win over Warners Bay.
