Newcastle Hunters basketball team qualify for finals in every age group of junior competition

NEWCASTLE Hunters have made history by qualifying for finals in every age group of the junior competition.

The boys' and girls' teams in the Country Premier League have all qualified for the finals in the under-12s, under-14s, under-16s and under-18s divisions.

The Eastern Junior League teams in the same age groups have also qualified for finals.

It is the first time in recent memory that all 16 teams have qualified for the playoffs.

The Hunters' senior teams have also performed admirably this season with the championship women's team sitting in fifth place and the men's team just outside playoff contention at this point in the season.

This Saturday night is reunion night at Newcastle Basketball Stadium with all past players, officials and supporters as the team takes on Hills Hornets.
