Central Coast decider in Black Diamond AFL Cup grand final

IT will be an all-Central Coast Black Diamond AFL Cup grand final after Killarney Vale defeated Newcastle City in the preliminaries, 12.13 (85) to 6.11 (47).

The Bombers will take on minor premiers Terrigal Avoca this Saturday, September 6, at Newcastle's No. 1 Sportsground.

With the match moved to Bateau Bay due to a waterlogged sportsground, Killarney Vale kicked six goals to nil in the last quarter to run out 38-point winners.

Killarney Vale sprung the first surprise with the inclusion of former Essendon star Mark McVeigh.

His contribution was limited to two first-quarter behinds before being forced out of the game at quarter-time with a hamstring injury.

Aided by the wind in the final quarter, Killarney Vale took the lead.

Newcastle had opportunities but the wind made it difficult to convert these into points.

Killarney Vale's Scott Manuelle put the icing on the cake with the final goal to send the team through to its second premiership decider.

In first division, Newcastle City will play Wyong Lakes after defeating Terrigal Avoca 13.16 (94) to 4.6 (30).

Terrigal Avoca defeated Warners Bay by 24 points in second division and will play Newcastle City this Saturday.
