Brickman Experience - An Interactive Spectacular In LEGO Bricks Saturday and Sunday, Newcastle Entertainment Centre, daily until April 30. A collection of individual works by Ryan McNaught, the only LEGO certified professional in the Southern Hemisphere and one of only 14 in the world. The exhibition includes a two-metre-long LEGO Star Wars X-wing, a model Airbus A380, a quarter scale LEGO Ferrari and the world's largest LEGO flower.

Great Lakes Food Trail Edible Garden Tour 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm, Garden to Table Permaculture, Charlotte Bay, Pacific Palms. The tour teaches people what can be done at home to live a more sustainable life and grow some of your own food.
Gresford Billy Cart Derby 9am, Park Street, East Gresford. A fun filled day for the family to watch some crazy and fantastic billy cart designs all racing down the main street of East Gresford.
Greyhound Racing The Gardens, Birmingham Gardens. The program includes the 515-metre maiden final.
Harness Racing 5.45pm to 9.30pm, Maitland Harness Racing Track. The eight-race Easter program is headlined by the $10,000 Club Menangle Series Heat.
Hungerford Hill Winery Easter Weekend Celebrations Saturday and Sunday, Hungerford Hill Winery, Pokolbin. Grab a bite to eat on-the-go from Sydney’s finest food trucks featuring Spanish tapas, seafood paella, gourmet banh mi and Vietnamese street eats.
Lakemac Heritage Festival 2017 Saturday and Sunday, Victory Parade, Toronto. Classic boats from all over Australia are on display, including steam, sail, motor and oared craft. Boats must be of a design prior to 1975 but may have been built at anytime from any material.
SUNDAY
Breakfast with the Birds 8am, Hunter Wetlands Centre, Shortland. When you book breakfast at Spoonbill Cafe, it will include entry and a guided birdlife tour of the wetlands. Starting at 8am for a stroll and feeding of the birds, before returning to enjoy breakfast with a view of the Wetlands. Adults $40, children $15.
Easter Duck Races 11.30am, District Park, Gloucester. The Gloucester Rotary Duck Races feature lots of races climaxing with the final race – The Duck Grand National. Ducks are auctioned for the top race. Adults $2, kids $1, family $5.
Easter Laneway Party 6pm, King Street Hotel, Newcastle. Melbourne’s Tyron Hapi and local Jayteehazard spin tunes until 10pm, before the silent disco takes over. Plus the Easter Bunny will swing and there’s free snags on the BBQ.
Family Truck Show Hotel Tudor, Woodberry. Raising money for Beyond Blue and The Luke Batty Foundation for domestic violence. There will be jumping castles, face painting, live music and raffles. To enter your truck contact the Hotel Tudor on 4966 3211. Entry is $20 per truck, with prizes to be won.
Lachlan Valley Railway Easter Steam 8am to 5pm, Sunday and Monday, Muswellbrook Train Station. Join the Lachlan Valley Railway for your last chance to ride behind locomotive 5917 for some time. Tickets sales will help raise funds for the upcoming restoration of 5917. Trips include Muswellbrook to Scone or Ravensworth or Sandy Hollow.

Cessnock Stomp Festival 10am to 4pm, Sunday April 23, Vincent Street Cessnock. It’s the juiciest and messiest way to enjoy the Hunter Valley wine region. The public is invited to the main street of Cessnock to take off their shoes, roll up their pants and jump into a barrel to stomp the Drayton’s grapes. There are individual timed stompers ($25), selfie stompers ($5), plus a Cessnock pub challenge to find which hotel has the best stompers. For a more refined experience there’s Mad Hatter’s High Tea and a celebration of bubbly at Peterson House.
