“They continue to be our bogey team,” Koppen said after United held off sustained pressure from Mid North Coast in the latter stages.
The visitors led 2-0 at the break after captain Lori Depczynski and Sarah Halvorsen both scored.
The hosts got a goal back in the second period when United were reduced to 10 players for 10 minutes as centre-back Jaimee Ellis was sidelined briefly with an ankle complaint.
The games at The Gardens and Thornton Park were both postponed.
