Fronditha Care has that in mind when rolling out the welcome mat at its aged-care facility in Newcastle.
Fronditha Care is a charitable not-for-profit organisation established in 1977 with the aim of providing quality residential aged care services that are consistent with the cultural heritage of the individual being cared for.
Following on from its successful establishment throughout the Melbourne metropolitan region in Victoria, the organisation extended its arms of care to NSW.
“I want all our residents to feel at home and encouraged along with their families to be involved in the caring process,” chief executive George Lekakis said.
In partnership with the Hippocrates Australian Greek Aged Persons Association, Fronditha Care opened its Hippocrates Aged Care facility in Crebert Street, Mayfield, in 2011.
The facility has 66 beds and cares for its residents within a multicultural environment which celebrates their language, history, religious values, attitudes, rituals, music and cuisine.
Each resident has their own private room with an en suite. The Fronditha Care Hippocrates facility boasts dining rooms, activities areas, living rooms, library, sunroom, café and a large courtyard.
“We remain true to our original commitment to provide exceptional standards with carers who are devoted to sharing love and bringing joy to the lives of our elders every day”, Mr Lekakis said.
Elderly people seeking admission to Fronditha’s residential care services must initially be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Service. (For more info visit myagedcare.gov.au.)
“We love to share and celebrate our residents’ life experiences and create new memories as we believe it is never too late to learn or experience something new,” Mr Lekakis said.
Profits go to providing the best care and improving services and facilities for elders. Fronditha Care is about people, not profit. For more information, phone 4016 4160.
