Emily van Egmond believes the best way to put a big loss behind you is to produce a big performance, and that is what the Newcastle Jets W-League captain intends to do on Sunday.

The Jets host Canberra United at No.2 Sportsground after a demoralising 5-2 loss at the hands of back-to-back champions Melbourne City.
But, with just 12 games in the season and three already played, the Jets captain said there was no time to dwell on defeats.
“It’s never easy to swallow a 5-2 loss but some of those goals we conceded were off our own doing,” van Egmond said.
“I don’t think we played our best football and definitely have room for improvement, which is obviously the most positive thing.
“We’ve just got to focus on Canberra now and it’s going to be important for us to get something out of this game.”
Van Egmond has been loving a return to Jets colours this season after three years away and was determined to make every minute count against Canberra before joining the Matildas next week for a two-game series against China.
The international duties mean the 24-year-old will miss Newcastle’s round-five clash with Adelaide United.
The Jets will be without midfielder Tori Huster and defender Tash Prior this weekend. Prior sustained a concussion in the City match and Jets coach Craig Deans said they would err on the side of caution with Huster, who has a foot complaint.
“Emily is away for the Adelaide game and we need to make sure Tori is 100 per cent for that game, so we’ll give her a rest this weekend and then when Emily is away they can just swap spots in the starting team,” he said.
Deans was yet to finalise his squad but said Tara Andrews would come back in after she missed the Melbourne trip.
“We missed a little bit of experience on the bench last week, so she will come in to the bench,” he said.
“She can play midfield or she can play up front, so it’s a bit more flexibility for us.”
Clare Wheeler and Sophie Nenadovic are expected to be promoted to the starting line-up and Hannah Brewer is likely to join Cassidy Davis in the centre of defence.
The match is at 4.30pm.
