Council’s offices will be closed from noon on Friday, December 22, until normal operating hours resume on Tuesday, January 2.
Newcastle’s libraries will mostly be open over the holiday period, though some many have extra hours added to their usual schedule. These will be released in the coming weeks on the Newcastle Region Library website.
They will also have after-hours chutes that will operate over the holiday periods, and through any library shut-downs for Christmas and the New Year.
For those looking for something cultural to do over the holidays, Newcastle Museum and Newcastle Art Gallery will both be open 10am to 5pm every other day during the school holidays, and will close Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Beresfield Golf Course will be closed on Christmas Day, while the Newcastle Shop will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Civic Digest cafe will close at 2.30pm December 22, and re-open for normal trading hours on Tuesday, January 2.
Fort Scratchley will not be available on some public holidays, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. It will, however, be open as normal from 10am to 4pm as per regular schedule, with the usual Tuesday closure in effect.
Council’s printing service will close on noon, Friday December 22, and resume trading on Tuesday, January 2.
Mall Parking Station and the Stockton Beach Tourist Park will maintain normal open hours.
