First up won't have much on offer so wait for tide to start to run out. Shorebreaks at Newcastle Beach, South Bar and Dixon. Redhead, Hams and Catho to the south. Along the beach at Birubi and Samurai up at Port Stephens.
Swimming conditions are okay in with a warm current about. Stick to the flagged areas if going in. Water temps on 22C.
