Camp Cove Swim is owned and operated by former St Pius X and St Francis Xavier student Katherine Hampton.
She launched the label in 2013 and the company’s first collection dropped in October of that year.
Joining forces with shoot director Karl Warwick-Pearson, also of Newcastle, they decided to film at the location after recalling fond memories of growing up in the area.
“As both Karl and myself have lived in the New Lambton area before the location was a familiar one to us both,” Ms Hampton said.
“Growing up and going to school in Newcastle gave me nostalgic ties to the pool as well with fond memories of school swimming carnivals and hot, sticky days spent at the pool.
“The diving block and boards have such a unique, retro look to them and both Karl and I knew that it would show up beautifully shot on 16mm film.”
Ms Hampton started the label with a desire to fulfill a gap in the market for “responsibly-made, quality swimwear with vintage-inspired styling”.
The swimwear has a retro theme and the company’s advertising videos have all been of a similar nature so far.
“In all our imagery we try to break down the traditional stereotypes of women’s swimwear of being glamorous and static, a tall/thin model lying by the pool for example,” Ms Hampton said.
“Instead, we replace it with naturally beautiful women having fun, being active and expressing themselves.”
The film crew managed to avoid the summer crowds at the pool by shooting in September last year.
