The three-day event, to be hosted from Friday March 2 until Sunday March 4, and will boast animals, competitions, exhibits, entertainment, commercial sites and a grand centre ring to “engage the city dweller through to the farmer”.
It’s the centre ring that brings the newest attractions for the Newcastle Regional Show, with both a debut motorbike spectacular underneath Friday night lights, and a rodeo and country concert on Saturday evening.
The Friday event, created by Graeme Boyd, will feature “thrills and spills” as five time Australian Trials Champion Kyle Middleton puts his stunt riding on display, before an exciting round of ‘motoball’ – soccer on motorcycles – is played in front of the audience.
The Saturday entertainment will include barrel racing, steer and bull riding, country and bluegrass tunes and a fireworks finale each night.
As well as food stalls, showbags and sideshow alleys with games and rides, the show will have agricultural competitions – stud beef cattle, goats, horses and show jumping, and the ever-popular animal nursery alongside poultry and reptile displays.
Early bird tickets are available at $12 for adults, $8 for children and $10 concession until Friday, February 23. Family passes and ride tickets are also available.
