Skivvy Season, which features Raave Tapes frontman Joab Eastley and drummer Lewis Horne, were joined by Shrimp’s Teleah Riordan (bass) and Nathan Buyers (synths) for their first full-band performance.
Eastley launched Skivvy Season to provide a creative outlet for his mellower indie tunes that weren’t suitable for Raave Tapes’ typically boisterous dance rock.
“It’s the softer side of my songwriting getting a chance to have a go,” Eastley said.
“Lewis and I have been working on some stuff and it’s songs we couldn’t play with Raave Tapes.”
However, it’ll be a brief reprieve. Raave Tapes are preparing to release their latest single Suds in the coming weeks, which is expected to continue the high-energy and squelchy beats of their popular track k bye.
Raave Tapes have been added to the Groovin The Moo line-up at Maitland Showground on April 28.
