Those were the words from a man in the crowd when heavy rain bucketed down midway through Clarence Town’s Dawn Service.
Anzac Day committee president Ron Chaffey had asked for a show of hands whether the event should continue.
The voice urging the service to continue summed up the sentiments of the large crowd, estimated to be almost 350, with all staying put.
The Clarence Town Pipes and Drums provided plenty of atmosphere leading the march and the RAAF Williamtown supplied a catafalque party.
The Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary ensured Simpson and his Donkey were protrayed and the Clarence Town Choir led the singing.

Following the service there was a hearty, free bacon, egg and sausage breakfast back at the Clarence Town Bowls Sport and Rec Club.
