That is the theme to the 2018 National Volunteer Week and aptly shows the power of Fronditha Care’s volunteers to bring joy to our elderly residents.
National Volunteer Week on 21-27 May recognises the millions of volunteers across Australia at events held across the country.
Fronditha Care has long held an annual recognition ceremony during this week to award its almost 200 volunteers. Many have given more than 40 years of service to our not-for-profit organisation.

Volunteers become friends and sometimes even confidants to the residents; they empower them and make them feel connected to their community.
At Fronditha Care’s Newcastle facility, the small but growing team of regular volunteers are cherished visitors.

The association has partnered with Fronditha Care since the nursing home’s establishment in 2011 and donated their land in Mayfield for the building’s construction. Fronditha Care’s Mayfield nursing facility bears the association’s name, Hippocrates.
