The extension comes after significant last-minute interest in the $1m grants program for community-minded projects in and around the Port of Newcastle.

The NPCC was established by the NSW Government in 2014 to ensure ongoing community benefit in the harbour precinct.

The NSW Government invites eligible groups with projects valued between $10,000 and $500,000 to apply before 5pm Friday, July 27.
