The Member for Western Victoria has resigned as shadow assistant minister for agriculture after blowing 0.191 on Saturday night at Barwon Heads.
Liberal leader Matthew Guy is "very angry" and pressuring the upper house MP to quit politics at the November state election.
"(I) asked him to, over the next few days, reflect upon his future ... as a member of parliament beyond the 2018 election. He will do that," Mr Guy told reporters on Monday.
Mr Guy added he and Mr Ramsay would discuss the latter's future in person within the next 24 hours.
"With 17 weeks, including four weeks of caretaker (mode) ... he's here to the election and whether he contests the election is what we'll discuss," the Liberal leader said.
In a statement, Victoria Police said a 63-year-old Barwon Heads man crossed over to the wrong side of the road at Barwon Heads about 11.30pm on Saturday.
He blew 0.191 after being pulled over, had his licence licence suspended and would be charged with drink-driving offences.
Mr Guy said "(Mr Ramsay) should face every bit of penalty that can be thrown at him".
"There is no excuse for drink-driving."
Mr Ramsay earlier told the Geelong Advertiser "I'm not hiding from anything".
"I feel like an idiot. I'm really gutted that I did such a thing and the actions are inexcusable," he said.
"The consequences will haunt me forever."
