Lake Macquarie will have two new skate parks unveiled within the space of a week as construction at Cameron Park and Charlestown nears completion.

The two parks have been progressing over the past few months, but are now at the stage where eager local skaters can see what will be on offer.
Lake Macquarie City Council’s acting manager community planning, Andrew Bryant, said the Charlestown park will complement the area.
“Charlestown skate park, under construction on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Frederick Street, features bowls from 1.2m to 3m in depth to suit beginner and advanced skaters, BMX and scooter riders,” he said.
The $1 million park, prepared by specialist construction company, Convic, was designed in conjunction with local skaters and is on track for an official opening on Sunday, September 2.
At Cameron Park, work is being concluded on a skate park at the new $15 million Pasterfield Sports Complex.
The street-style skate park will host a family fun day on Sunday, August 26.
