Rebecca Ives got the fourth placed squad off the mark with a goal in the opening quarter, before she was joined on the score sheet by Aimee Bohan and Kanesha Murray to cap off the first half performance with a 21 to nil lead at the break.

Monique Maddalena continued the one-way traffic in the third quarter, before Aleece Williams and Alexandra Pearce put the icing on the 6.5.41 to 0.1.1 cake with majors of their own.

Elsewhere in the opening elimination rounds, Killarney Vale put a stop to Singleton’s season with a 5.4.34 to 1.1.7 victory at Weeraman Field. Tonicah Eslick and Dixie Butler were key for the Bombers as they scored a double apiece, while Jocelyn Kelleher was a stand-out further back in the win.

The Newcastle City Stars rounded out the final four in the Black Diamond competition, as they kept just inches ahead of the surging Maitland Saints with a hat-trick for Sarah Halvorsen and a double for Ashlee Hayllar.

The Saints also had a hat-trick kicker in leading goalscorer Sarah Burns, while Skyla Dunn chipped in with one of her own, but it wasn’t enough as the Maitland squad fell just short in the 5.2.42 to 4.4.28 battle.

Wyong Lakes will now play the minor premiers in Nelson Bay in the opening preliminary final next weekend, while Killarney Vale and the Newcastle City Stars will contest the second match of the last four.
