Façon announced that Chiara Voight, Grace van der Boogaard, Hunter Monnox, Jade Archer, Jamie Smith, Lillian Owens, Madyson Thomas and Sarah Henderson would all be moving on to the next round of the talent search, after impressing in the semi-final rounds.
The shortened competition list comes after the Façon team hosted a Chic development squad, running the semi-finalists through a model workshop that included discussions about the industry, the importance of social media, and lessons from some of Chic’s top models.
The workshop also included a photo shoot with Chic Management’s in-house photographer.
Once the workshop had concluded, the Façon and Chic Management teams narrowed down the field, a “difficult” task according to Chic director Kathy Ward.
“All the girls are beautiful and have a great look,” she said. “I was impressed not just by their physical appearance, but also their positive attitudes and energy.”

While five girls would be departing the Face of Façon search after the workshop, Ms Ward said they shouldn’t be disheartened about missing out on this stage of the local competition.
“Before the girls start out in the industry they have to understand that no matter how good they look, success can only be achieved by dedication, a professional attitude, a good agent and a simple touch of luck,” she explained.
The finalists will now hold a runway event at Westfield Kotara on October 6, where a number of collections from retailers at the shopping complex will be on display. The event will be hosted by Westfield’s in-house stylist Kate Kohler.
