Reclaim the Night is an annual event held which aims to raise the awareness of sexual assault against women.

It started in the 1970’s as part of the Women’s Liberation Movement in England and was, in par, a response to a sex offender who was targeting women in the streets.

There will be two marches held as part of Reclaim the Night this year.

Newcastle October 26, meet at  5.30pm at the former Newcastle Maritime Museum. Women only to march. Men are welcome to join at the end of the march at Customs House.

Lake Macquarie October 26 at 6pm for Live entertainment and a free BBQ at the Warners bay Rotunda, The Esplanade Warners Bay. Men are welcome to join in the march and show their support also.
