The title says it all, with cold currents moving in along our coastline this past week due to the constant North-Easter’s which have a habit of pushing the warm water out to sea and replacing it with cold, dead water.

The warm water comes back in usually after a southerly blow, so fingers crossed.
I fished last Saturday with local soccer great, Tich McLealland off Wybung in about 40m of water for several nice flathead and a handful of reasonable squire however the cold water made things very slow and as a result we were on the move all day. Local Flathead guru, Craig Walkcom invited my brother Pete Judd out for a morning throwing soft plastics and were rewarded with around half a dozen fish to 3kg.
They were a bit cagey on where they were caught, however some of the pictures sent me would indicate they were around the Belmont Bay area, don’t tell them I said that though!
Some nice gutters along our beaches at the moment but we will need that water temp to rise to about 18 degrees for results to improve.
This weekend will see the final Interclub event between Redhead Bowling Club, Pelican RSL and Swansea RSL fishing clubs for the year to be hosted by Pelican RSL.
