“We all know it takes a village to raise a child, join our village and help our young people to flourish,” a spokesperson for Raise said.
The program starts in April 2019.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, be available for two hours each week during school hours.
They must also be able to commit for 23 weeks, between March and September, and be available to undertake 21 hours of face-to-face training.
Volunteers will receive free accredited mentor training from the highly qualified Raise Foundation team. They will then be and matched with a student identified by the school and spend an hour one-on-one with them each week for 23 weeks.
A qualified Raise Program Counsellor will be there to support volunteers throughout.
Raise is the Youth Mentoring Foundation, empowering young people in Australia to become resilient, capable and connected.
