It will be launched at The Lock-Up on February 1 and runs until March 17.
The works are a culmination of Snape’s PhD research over the past four years.
A teaser for the exhibition is currently on display in the window of Curve Gallery, directly across the road from The Lock-Up.
Snape’s current practice has focused on a “dangerously exciting” and new method of inflating steel to create three dimensional forms.
This preformative process – the inflation of the works – Snape describes as “action sculpture”. It has given his work a “renewed freedom and reveals a delicate dialogue between control and chance”.
There will be an ‘in conversation’ session with the artist and university lecturer Dr Faye Neilson on February 20, from 5.30pm.
The Lock-Up is located at 90 Hunter Street, Newcastle.
