Dog Rescue Newcastle and The Star have partnered to provide a weekly column of some of the area’s most eligible K9s that are in need of a loving home.
Meet this week’s pooches:
Murphy: 9 weeks, German short-haired pointer X bull Arab
Looking for someone tall, dark and super handsome?
Alright, so he might not be that tall yet, but c’mon, he’s definitely got the dark and super handsome part down pat, right?
Meet Murphy, a nine-week-old German short-haired pointer cross bull Arab.
He's smart as a whip, playful and affectionate and looking for an active family with another dog so he has someone to play with and learn from.
He loves leaping around like a gazelle with his brothers, playing tug o’ war with stuffed animals, and getting heaps of cuddles and attention.
Murphy already has quite the flair for conversation (I hope you speak puppy) and will be ready for playful adventures with his forever family.
GSPs like to be with their family, so Murphy will need to be welcome inside.
He will also need a yard with good fencing with no small gaps, rural fencing (mesh or wire) would not be suitable for him.
He’s going to be a big boy and will need to be safe and secure when he is outside enjoying some playtime.

Latte: 10 weeks, bull Arab X Staffy puppy
Latte by name, smooth and milky by nature.
This little guy is a 10-week-old bull Arab - Staffy and would make a great companion dog for some lucky person.
Latte needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown.
Whomever adopts Latte would need to have good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
He is not a huge pup so he doesn't look like he'll grow to be as big as most bull Arabs and he is used to other dogs and children.
Puppy-training classes are always recommended to give any new family member the best start in life.
Latte can use a dog door and is on his way to being toilet trained but must be treated as a puppy so that is still ongoing.
