HUMAN resilience and the female form will be celebrated by The Theatre of Burlesk of Bizarre, this month at the Royal Exchange when it presents Nevermore.

The show is produced by Porcelain and explores mortality, humanity, and sexuality through burlesque, belly-dance and performance art.
"It's a celebration of human resilience and the human experience and celebration of the feminine form," Porcelain said.
"Our Burlesk of The Bizarre shows always touch on the darker side of humanity and we wanted to present a show that explores the balance of life and death, joy and suffering and the yin and yang nature of the human experience."
The show will be hosted by Novocastrian Lana Del Banana and brings together works created by the performers themselves, including Newcastle's Dani Cooper, Vivienne Rose and Berlin von Black.
Newcastle will be the first city to see the show before it tours NSW, and possibly interstate.
The show features elaborate and beautiful costumes, made by the performers.
"A lot of love, sweat and tears goes into creating these costumes," Porcelain said.
"Even the rhinestoning of individual rhinestones takes hours on each garment.
"Each act and costume has a personal relevance and importance to each artist in the production.
"We are a weird and wonderful cabaret collective for the strange and unusual running shows in Newcastle, Sydney and the Blue Mountains."
Nevermore will be performed at the Royal Exchange, 34 Bolton Street, Newcastle on May 4.
The show is strictly for 18 years and over, and there will be some nudity.
Doors open at 7.30pm. The darkness begins at 8pm.
