Catapult's masterclass, held on Sunday, May 5 at the not-for-profit dance organisation's Newcsatle studio, will feature Newcastle born and internationally acclaimed artist Roseanna Anderson.
Anderson is the co-founder and director of Impermanence and set to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience when she returns to her home town this weekend.
Impermanence, founded in 2011, has worked with more than 100 different artists creating new works for stage and film.
Sunday's masterclass is occurring in conjunction with a special screening of Impermanence Dance Theatre's debut film The Ballet of the Nations.
The Ballet of the Nations will be screened at the Regal Cinema on Wednesday, May 8.
Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub is a not-for-profit dance organisation for professional artists, emerging artists, young people and the community, according to its website.
The group's mission is to 'strengthen the presence of contemporary dance in Newcastle, the Central Coast and Greater Hunter, by creating a hub for dance artists to develop their practice, gain skills and collaborate across disciplines: extending their networks and profile both in the professional arts and broader community - propelling dancers forward'.
