Rae Downer, head coach of Football Federation Australia's under-17 women's national team, will present a free coaching masterclass at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Wednesday, May 15.
Dower, who was at the helm of the 2016-17 Westfield W-League winning Canberra United women's team, is one of the most experienced and qualified female coaches in Australia.
She has more than 20 years of coaching experience and a great understanding of the game, which she will share with coaches from the Northern NSW Football area on Wednesday.
In the past 12 months, Dower's Junior Matildas have ventured to Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic and Laos for the AFC under-16 women's championship qualifications. A successful two stages have seen the Junior Matildas qualify, and will be off to Thailand in September.
In Speers Point on Wednesday, Dower will speak about the competencies she looks for in identifying players for Junior Matildas camps and tours.
The masterclass is a unique opportunity for registered and accredited coaches of youth and senior teams and Skill Acquisition Program coaches.
The masterclass will run from 6pm to 7pm. Register at northernnswfootball.com.au.
