This year's line-up includes Dave Callen as emcee; the winner of the 2019 comedy festival's best newcomer award, Blake Freeman; our Kiwi cousin Cal Wilson; Daniel Connell and Sean Choolburra.
Callan is an Irish-born Melbourne comic who is best known for his roles on Rove Live and national radio station Triple J.
Over the years, he has popped up on Good News Week, Hey Hey It's Saturday, Spicks and Specks, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.
Freeman is one of Australia's brightest new comedians, making a name for himself with his own brand of energetic and disarmingly honest comedy.
Through his youthful energy and charismatic delivery Freeman weaves charming stories, making them intensely personal and relatable.
Wilson first came across the Tasman in 2003 and has gone on to become one of Australia's most popular comedians.
Since then, she's done it all - becoming a perennial favourite on television shows such as Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Thank God You're Here, and more recently, Have You Been Paying Attention? and Hughesy We Have a Problem.
Since 2015 when it started in Australia, Wilson has been the host of the worldwide smash hit storytelling format The Moth's monthly live shows in Melbourne.
Connell could easily be described as the ideal Aussie comedian - affable, lovable and hilarious.
His observational, dry, often unanticipated comedy has seen him take to stages all over the country.
Choolburra, who won the NSW RAW Comedy Final in 2002, recently hosted and performed at Deadly Funny in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
He has previously performed at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Comedy Festival with his one man show Oil of my Land, which drew on his life experiences as an Aboriginal man growing up and gave perfect opportunity for blending his skills as a dancer and didgeridoo player.
The fabulous five will grace the Civic stage each night from 8pm on June 7, 8 and 9.
Tickets cost $55 per person. For bookings, phone Civic Ticketek on (02) 4929 1977 or visit civictheatrenewcastle.com.au.
