Chopper: 13 years, cattle dog X
Looking for an old mate to be your companion? Great, here is Chopper!
This handsome old cattle dog is 12 years and 8 months old.
You can tell Chopper was a looker in his day and we at DRN think he has gotten better with age. A bit like Sean Connery.
Now don't be fooled by his senior status, Chopper still has plenty of get up and go and likes nothing more than a run - especially with other dogs. At the same time though, he enjoys sitting and warming himself at the heater and watching a bit of telly.
Chopper, we think, doesn't hear too well. That or he is choosing to ignore us. At his age he thinks he is probably allowed that luxury. Due to him not hearing too well, he tends to growl a little or air snap if startled so for this reason we feel a home with no children is a good idea. He really would suit a retired gentleman who likes to garden so he can just hang out.

Maverick: 10 weeks, cattle dog
Meet Maverick, a 10 week old, blue cattle dog puppy. This handsome man is a little bit shy but once he gets to know you, he will be your shadow.
Maverick is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. He has been very well socialised with other puppies and gets along well with them all. He's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them. Maverick is not suitable for a home with cats or pocket pets as he thinks it's a game to chase them.
Maverick will need a friendly adult dog of his size or bigger as a teacher, companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time. Maverick is almost toilet trained. Maverick needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown.
As Maverick is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately five months old.
